WHO WE ARE

The Kalamazoo Earth Day Festival Committee is a group of volunteers committed to uplifting the work of environmental activists in Southwest Michigan and helping all of our neighbors become more involve in supporting sustainability every day.

The Kalamazoo Earth Day Committee has organized Earth Month activities annually since 2017, hosts a biweekly podcast in partnership with Public Media Network that began in 2023, and supports community organizations throughout the year. Our goal is to connect and support community groups that are actively working to create a higher quality of life for all with participatory action, environmental health, justice, and sustainability as common elements. Our annual schedule emphasizes activities in April though we remain involved with with our community partners throughout the year.

We recognize that the city of Kalamazoo occupies the lands of Ojibwe, Odawa, and Potawatomi people. Please take a moment to acknowledge and honor this ancestral land of the Three Fires Confederacy, and the sacred lands of all indigenous peoples.
